I am giving away a surprise.
Kills you doesn't it?
All you have to do is tell me what you love to sew, your favorite color & if there is a sewing item that you particularly love to collect (buttons, fabric, patterns, antique lace) so that I make a custom goody score just for you. The winner will be chosen randomly. After I pick the winner I will assemble a special box of goodies just for you. I will be looking at your blog, shop or flickr photo's to learn more about you ;) so share that info too. The more I know the more special the box will be!
ooooh a surprise! Fun! My favourite colour is probabl pink or green! And I collect fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love sewing blankets and clothes for my little ones. I hoard fabric, yarn and patterns, probably much more than I should. Green used to be my favorite color, but nowadays I'm leaning more towards pink/black combo.
ReplyDeleteooooh how I love a surprise. I'm a quilter and am currently collecting blues and greens---also have a fancy for yellow. Also just inherited a vintage quilting frame and would LOVE to christen it with vintage fabric!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I love quilting, and sewing for my kids. I am planning to sew more for my little girl in 2010 (she's just over a year old). I have a small vintage linens collection (fat quarters). I have a button jar I got at an antique shop. I have a few vintage little girl patterns and love those.
ReplyDeleteI am a quilter and sew stuff like bags but also clothes. I collect vintage fabrics and anything from the Fifties. My favourite colours are Aqua and Red. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway..please count me in. There is no one thing that I like to collect..it all gets used one way or another. I suppose the thing that catches my eye at the moment is stitcheries and patterns from places that are off the beaten track.
ReplyDeleteOh, surprises are so fun - how creative of you! I am addicted to sewing blankets for my home and clothing for my children, usually in a cool color palette with brown thrown in (unless my little sweet pea suddenly demands pink). Anything to do with sewing just seems to stick to my fingers on the way to the cashier - especially patterns and laces for my sweet pea! Thanks for sharing and inspiring us all!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea of a custom surprise! It's so exciting. I love to sew tote bags and am looking forward to learning to quilt. My favorite color is yellow. I love vintage lace and buttons. I used to live in Japan, but I wasn't into crafting then, so I missed out on scooping up Japanese craft magazines. I'd love to look through one.
ReplyDeletesounds like fun! I'm liking blues/pinks for some reason right now. I love zippers, and of course fabric!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting giveaway. I enjoy sewing for me little girls, although I have been sewing knitting project bags mostly. Love ribbons, buttons, all colors, especially reds and greens.
ReplyDeleteLately I've been loving to sew quilts from scraps. I love to sew bags for carrying around knitting projects too. I collect pretty buttons though I hardly ever use them. My favorite colors are oranges and dark pinks. Thanks for this wonderful giveaway. I can't wait to look through your blog.
ReplyDeleteooh, it's like having a Secret Santa! I mostly sew gifts for kids: toys, clothing, etc. I'm not good at designing though, so patterns are always appreciated! My favorite color is blue.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous giveaway! I love to crochet and hand sew items. I love pretty ribbon, soft yarn, and vintage items. I also am a HUGE Japanese craft fan. A magazine would be awesome.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is purple (and I love to mix that with blue and green) and I am a quilter. I love pink, I really do. I'm not ashamed to admit that.
I also have recently fallen in love with the stitching technique in Alabama Stitches and I'm working on my first skirt, yay!
Hi, my name is Eerika and I'm hopelessly addicted to buttons.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you can never have too many of them, since I for one never seem to have just the kind of button I need at hand, despite fairly swimming in the things! :)
My favourite colours are green and brown, since I can't pick just the one!
I also love Japanese craft magazines.
Thanks so much for sharing your generosity in the giveaway! Sewing is both a creative outlet for me, and a way to get the kids cute clothes. Most of my sewing is clothing for the kids, stuffies, and other kid-related things. I manage to sneak in something for me every now and then. :) My favorite color is purple, and I've been finding myself collecting trims as they are hard to find!
ReplyDeletei sew a lot of small items : bags and such. i like blues and browns. and i have a large collection of buttons, that i never seem to really use.

i also love buttons. different colours, shapes, sizes... buttons rule!!!
i'll be stopping by more often now that i found your blog. these giveaways are great because of this!

I love to make quilts and if I had to choose a favorite color, today it would be pink. My favorite sewing thing to collect is fabric! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'm very much into pale colorways (particularly gray) for myself but really I love any sweet prints. Ooh and linen. Love linen. And I always drool over Japanese craft magazines but never treat myself--I love the simplicity and natural feel of the styles. Right now I'm into making things for kids and babies--even though I have none myself. But my friends and relatives just keep having them like crazy. I also love to patchwork and hand quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteliesl52 at gmail dot com
I like to sew tote bags and patchwork quilt tops. I'm just learning to sew (I mostly knit), so I haven't tried more complicated projects like clothing yet. My favourite colours are blue and dark brown. I'm slowly building up a small fabric stash, and I like buttons because I have the option of using them for knitting projects as well.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I don't have a blog or a shop, and my Flickr photos (under the same nickname as this comment) show only a few of my more recent knitting projects.
This is such a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Japanese patterns (accessories, clothing, and toys), and love to add vintage lace and trim to my tote bags, necklaces, anything. I have a few pictures up on my blog: http://www.wearmyredshoes.blogspot.com
Surprises are wonderful. I'm a sucker for almost all fabric, and I've been loving deep jewel tones -- the tibetan orange of my kitchen, the deep maroon trim in my house, the deep purple chair I have. So any jewel tones rock my world. I'm a quilter who has expanded into bags, so anything useful for that is neat too. My blog has all my quilts posted! Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteSurprises are so exciting! I like sewing clothes for my little niece and my nephews. And I love putting buttons on them as decoration. I collect any kind of really neat buttons I can find and then use them for projects later on.

ReplyDeleteI love to sew clothing, especcially tops and such. I like to sew for others, e.g. birthdays. My favourite colours are yellow, orange and red. My favorite colors are brights (!!), I love anything retro kitschy or kawaii (as in super cute Japanese stuff), and I seldom sew clothes -- too time intensive!

ReplyDeleteI've just been working my way back into sewing. I've done some bags as gifts, which was a lot of fun, and have done some simple toys for my little one. I bought some fabric to make her some pajamas and also a jersey/knit cardigan for me, but I'm trying to finish up all my Christmas gifts before I get moving on those things. I also love knitting and crocheting. My favorite color is probably aqua right now, but I've always been a blue fan in general.

How great is this giveaway. Well, I'm mostly into knitting, but have taken up sewing a lot too. I love colors - especially bright green and yellow, or red. I like buttons and fun prints. And I love surprises...
ReplyDeleteI am all about quilting. So far I just use fabrics that I have collected over time, or that I get at a good price at Joannes, but I would love to use some really beautiful fabrics someday, but right now, I just can't justify spending the money on a piece of fabric. (Even though to me they are beautiful works of art in themselves!!) I love pretty much everything, but my favorite animal is elephants, and there are so many adorable fabrics out there these days with elephants in them!! I also love bright colors, and vintage fabrics! (See I love everything, I can't decide on just one theme!!)

My favorite colors are green and blue. If there was something I collected, I'd have to say, buttons. All kinds of buttons. But, I am particularly enamored with vintage buttons. There is just something special about them!
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite colours are green, blue and brown. I don't actually own a sewing machine yet, but I do some hand stitching while I wait for Santa to arrive...lately I've been enjoying drawing and applying appliques on my son's onesies. I love ribbon. I wish that I had boxes and boxes of ribbon.

Oh, what a clever giveaway! I love cotton fabric of all types, especially novelty prints (to make Project Linus quilts), and modern prints (for a scrappy quilt I hope to make next year), holiday prints, flannels, 30's, etc., etc., etc! I love scraps! Especially japanese and vintage scraps, mini polka dots, plaids, etc. If I could just buy cheap scraps forever I would be happy; anything I need more than a 6x6 square for I buy at the thrift store in the form of sheets or curtains or ladies' 2XL dresses, etc. I wish there were a magical chute where people could just whoosh me their unwanted tiny scraps. That would be happy.
ReplyDeleteAccessories are my favorite thing to sew (headbands, wrist cuffs, etc.). My favorite colors are blue and pink. I collect vintage buttons!
ReplyDeleteI'm in for a surprise - kind of a fun giveaway idea! My favorite color is blue. I'm just getting on the sewing train, so I guess I'm into collecting fabric!

ReplyDeleteSurprises are the best! Especially with hints :-) I love to sew for my kids, it's what motivated me to learn and it's kept me sane and happy ever since. I love a vintage feel or look no matter what the actual colors are, as for collected items, I hoard clothing/bags/linens for repurposing, but I'm not partial to any one notion.
ReplyDeleteI love to sew things for my kiddos...not necessarily clothes, but things they will love...
ReplyDeletemy fave colours are all of them but I am especially fond of matching bright colours with grey-- like red, lime green, pink, tourquoise...my favourite colour combo is mustard yellow and grey! LOVE IT!

Just read your comment on Park City Girl and had to check you out. Love your sense of humor.
ReplyDeleteThe past several months has not allowed time for sewing/quilting. However, quilting is my thing.
Pink in the Now Color, of course, buttons and lace go right along with it.
Please don't judge my quilting activities with my recent posts - I've been carried away with a bit of knitting and crocheting.
I love all shades of blue, and a green mixed in them really warms my heart. I sew a lot for my daughter who is one... clothes, clothes, toys, clothes... I collect all these vintage sewing patterns and mull them over when I have down time, dreaming up "perfect blue dresses" (or green ones).
ReplyDeletecynsaw2@hotmail.com
I'm a huge fan of pink, but when I'm crafting and sewing I tend to lean towards the blues and grays.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try a Japanese pattern but haven't worked up the guts yet.. maybe this will be my chance!

ReplyDeleteI love sewing little household things -- I love the idea of quilting, but just learned how to quilt (in a class) and haven't finished one yet, so I stick to little quilted heated packs, journal covers, accessories, etc. -- the more manageable projects for now! Favorite colors are red and greens (not together, though), maybe yellow? Anything pretty, really.
ReplyDeleteI love surprises! And since you asked :) I also really really love buttons :)
ReplyDeleteThey are my only obsession that comes close to my fabric addiction.
What I like to sew? Mostly bags (they come together so easily and never need fitting), skirts for myself (because I can try them on and don't have measure that often) and little plush thingies (though they are just for birthdays) :)
Thank you for this great giveaway!
Ooh the suspense is killing me. I don't take surprizes well hehehe. I mainly sew for children. I have a 3 year old toddler that I love to sew for in particular. But I'm also learning how to sew for my baby girl (4 months old). My favourite colour is orange. I collect really strange buttons. For example, I have a bunch of sparkly lips buttons that I have to come up with a project for.
